Grindr may forbid solicitation. But that hasn’t stopped the app from turning into a hotbed of money boys looking for a quick buck.
Fire up Grindr and chances are, a good portion of the active profiles belong to money boys.
Amidst the sea of photoshopped money boys however, one profile stands out in particular.

Dear Straight People,
Meet Adil (not his real name), a full-time money boy from Indonesia.
For the uninitiated, ‘Money Boy’ is slang for a male social escort. While being a money boy may provide lucrative returns, it’s a career with a short lifespan, as I’ve learnt from my conversation with a former money boy.
That is why Adil’s profile stands out in particular. Most money boys are in their twenties. Adil, however, is 39. But truth be told, I’m quite certain he is much older than 39 based on his appearance.
Don’t get me wrong. Adil is a good looking man. But if I had to hazard a guess, I would place him to be in his mid-forties.
The fact that a middle-aged man is earning a living as a full-time money boy is astounding to me. I decided to hit him up to find out more about what it’s like to be a mature money boy.
