Dear Straight People,

The Pinwheels 2025 turned out to be a standout night for queer representation.

Now in its 4th edition, The Pinwheels is an annual awards ceremony organised by Bloomr.SG and Mediacorp, celebrating Singapore’s top content creators. This year, LGBTQ+ storytelling took centre stage, with two queer-led pieces taking home major awards.

Kindness SG, the non-profit championing kindness in Singapore, clinched Best Lifestyle Video for RAWR Diaries – Love, acceptance & Ah Ma, a heartwarming portrait of local drag queen Opera Tang and her grandmother. The organisation also bagged Content Creator of the Year, making it one of the night’s biggest winners.

Queer visibility continued its momentum with Dear Straight People’s Unfiltered Gay Podcast, which won Most Social Good Video for “The Raw Truth About Bareback Sex,” produced in collaboration with Gayhealth.sg and AFA. Featuring Dr Terence Chiew, the episode set out to deliver safe sex education in a way that was honest but entertaining.
