Collin Farell Agrees To Be Best Man At His Gay Brother’s Wedding

 Dear Straight People,

We need more of you to be like Collin Farell! The 39-year old Irish heart-throb has agreed to be the best man at his gay brother’s wedding, after same-sex marriage was legalised in Ireland during the historic same-sex referendum passed last month.

Bromance of Collin and Eamon

Collin is known to have a close relationship with his brother, Eamon Farell, whom Collin found out was gay when he was only 9-years old. The fact that Collin Farell’s brother was gay was never an issue for him.

Eamon Farell came out of the closet to his parents at a very young age, and was often ridiculed and beaten up by his homophobic schoolmates during his schooling years. Those years of getting bullied are thankfully over for Eamon, who is currently in a loving relationship with his husband, Steven Mannion, whom he married in Vancouver in 2009

Collin Farell: The outspoken LGBT rights advocate

This is not the first time Collin Farell was a straight ally to the LGBT community. Collin Farell has long been an advocate for LGBT rights, and was active during the recent campaign to legalise same-sex marriage in Ireland. As part of his campaign, Collin wrote an emotional piece for the Sunday World.

Here is an extract from the Sunday World article:

“[My brother Eamon] was always proud of who he was…Even when others were casting him out with fists and ridicule and the laughter of pure loathsome derision, he maintained an integrity and dignity that flew in the face of the cruelty that befell him.

I don’t know where those bullies are now… but I do know where my brother is… He’s at home in Dublin living in peace and love with his husband of some years, Steven… They are about the healthiest and happiest couple I know… The fact that my brother had to leave Ireland to have his dream of being married become real is insane. INSANE.’

 Collin Farell also spoke out in favour of LGBT rights on several occasions, such as in this interview with Irish TV presenter Claire Byrne.

If only all of us gay people had a cool hot brother like Collin Farell!
